Day 1 DEPART NEW YORK
Depart New York for your overnight flight to Dakar on South African Airways.

Day 2 ARRIVE IN DAKAR
Upon arrival at Dakar airport, you will be met, assisted and transferred to your hotel. Rest, relax, and refresh. Welcome dinner.

Day 3 DAKAR GOREE ISLAND
City tour of Dakar. Visit the colorful markets including Tilen Market, famous for a variety of medicinal herbs and traditional healers. Visit the picturesque residential district of Medina. In the afternoon, visit the World Heritage Site of Goree Island including "The Door of No Return". Tour includes a lecture by the curator on the history of Goree.

Day 4 PINK LAKE / ST. LOUIS
Breakfast, depart to Saint Louis located north of Senegal. En route take a tour of Pink Lake, a rare natural phenomena caused by a unique combination of microorganism and high concentration of salts which gives the lake its pink color. Interact with the women harvesting salt, visit the Fulani Village where you will be welcomed by the Chief and his wives. Continue to Saint Louis. In the early evening, city tour of Saint Louis including a visit to the fishing village of Guet Ndar. After dinner enjoy Saint Louis by night.

Day 5 ST. LOUIS / TOUBA / DAKAR / BANJUL
Breakfast, return to Dakar. En route stop at Touba. Visit the Grand Mosque which is the largest and most beautiful in West Africa, visit the tomb of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba Mbacke, the founder of Mouridism. After lunch continue to Dakar for flight to Banjul. Arrive in Banjul late evening where you will be transported to Gambia Hotel for overnight.

Day 6 CRUISE
Cruise on the river Gambia where dolphins will generally show their presence. Stop at Mandingo Village to experience the village life. Be entertained by a mini cultural festiva. The river meanders its way from Banjul on the Atlantic coast through typical African villages for miles into the interior of Africa. You will travel through the original routes where slave ships sailed. Visit historical places like James Island, Albreda Slave market and Juffure, ancestral village of the late author Alex Haley.

Day 7 BANJUL
Morning at leisure/Optional village tour.

Day 8 ABUKO NATURE RESERVE
Tour of Abuko Nature reserve, Gambia's principal wildlife reserve. You may likely see chimpanzees and other animals but will certainly see a variety of exotic birds. Visit the carving and craft center.

Day 9 BANJUL / DAKAR
In the morning, decide on your activities with the assistance of your driver and guide. Late evening flight to Dakar.

Day 10 DEPART AND ARRIVE NEW YORK
Early morning departure on non-stop flight to New York. Arrive New York early morning.
